Lopeti Etu Millinery is prepping for New York Fashion Week in February, and we’ve decided to do something spectacular! This February is also the first year anniversary of our company, and so we’d like to make the release of the Fall 2011 collection a real celebration!
Since we’re thinking big, we decided to raise funds on Kickstarter.com. The cool thing about the site is that it uses the micro loan model to support the arts and cultural projects. Donations start at five dollars, and for larger amounts, donors also get rewards.
We are giving away custom made cocktail hats and hand blocked hats, official Lopeti Etu Fall 2011 collection t-shirts, copies of the Fall 11 collection look book, and of course, invitations to the show.
We’ll be talking about this more as the date gets closer, and we encourage you to take a look at our Kickstarter page and the video we’ve posted. Putting on a show like this takes a lot of resources, and we can’t do it without you. Won’t you join us?
Our fabulous model Nikki Phillip from the Milliners Guild fashion show was interviewed at Lincoln Center during Fashion Week 2011 while wearing a one of a kind Lopeti Etu fascinator. She’s the third person interviewed.
Film and performance artist Nao Bustamante wears hair accessories created by Lopeti Etu in this sneak preview for Bravo’s new reality show, Work of Art. Nao’s TV bio doesn’t really do her justice, so be prepared for a comedic, wacky and unpredictable season.
The question isn’t whether Nao is ready for reality TV, it’s whether reality TV is ready for Nao! For more info, visit Nao’s fan page on Facebook.
